Family Process DVD "You Don't Have to Live in Fear"

"You Don't Have to Live in Fear" is a DVD produced to give victims of domestic violence an insight into the family court process.

Her Majesty's Court Service with the support of the Family Justice Council and the Family Law Bar Association produced the film in response to the Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Court Administration (HMICA) report on how domestic violence is handled in the family courts and following the success of a similar production circulated in Northern Ireland.

The film aims to explain the process for injunctive remedies and protection available through the family court and highlight the support available through a number of agencies.  It is also being circulated as a training tool to convey to service providers the full impact of the emotional and practical issues faced in a domestic violence case on both the victims and their children.

On the 4 April 2008 the DVD won the Bronze award for film, video and DVD (Public Relations) at the 2008 International Visual Communications Association (IVCA) awards.  Click Here to acess an article about the DVD and the Award featured on the Financial Mail Women's Forum web-site on the 20 April 2008
